Jeffrey A. Johnson for Alabama House of Representatives, District 10
My Political Opponents
In case you're wondering who my political opponents are, I will list them
here. You might think it is foolish for me to advertise my competition, but I'm
doing it to demonstrate that these status quo, live-and-breathe-politics
folks basically advocate just tweaking our
existing state government (along with advocating their pet pork projects),
without fundamentally changing anything. These people want to increase the power
of the state over the citizens of Alabama.
I agree with exactly one thing that Gov. George C. Wallace said:
"There's not a dime's worth of difference between the Republicans and Democrats ."
Democratic Party:

"Establish an opportunity for a vote by Alabama citizens regarding constitutional
reform through a convention."
[My translation:]
Re-write the Alabama Constitution of 1901 to:
- remove the existing upper limit on state income tax rates, so they can be
drastically increased "for education".
Republican Party:
Mike Ball

Republicans usually "talk the talk" about reducing spending, etc.,
but they never seem to come through and "walk the walk" and actually do
much in that regard. In Alabama, they also tend to demagogue the populace into
thinking they're ultra-moral by advocating putting the 10 Commandments
up everywhere at taxpayer expense.
Republican Party (Primary Victims):
Results of the June 4, 2002, Republican primary for State House District 10:
Mike Ball | 1,488 votes | 40% |
Ken Arnold | 1,451 votes | 39% |
Chuck Yancura | 800 votes | 21% = He's outta here! |
Ken Arnold and Mike Ball competed in the June 25, 2002 runoff election:
Mike Ball | 1,389 votes | 60% |
Ken Arnold | 925 votes | 40% = He's outta here! |
- Ken Arnold
